Gifts
The Ashtabula County District Library welcomes general donations to help support our operations. We also welcome donations in memory of a loved one.
You can donate money directly to the library in person at any library location; by mailing a check or money order to the address below (please do not send cash in the mail); or by using the PayPal link below (no PayPal account required).

Memorial Donations
You can donate a cash amount directly to the library, recommending a subject area of interest to your loved one. The Library staff will help select a title using your donation, and a bookplate will be added to the item. The Library will let you know when the item is available for the public.
You can pick up or print a memorial donation form fill it out; and drop it off at any ACDL location (including a Bookmobile stop).
Donations of Materials
The Library, in accepting the gift, obtains free and complete legal title to it. The Library may dispose of materials that do not meet the criteria.
If an appraisal is desired, the Donor shall incur the cost of the appraisal prior to the transference of the gift to the Library.
The Donor may prepare and attach a list of materials donated to be signed by staff accepting the materials. Library staff will not prepare such a list.

If you have donations that meet the criteria above, please stop by either of our locations to drop them off. On rare occasions we have more donations than we can handle, so it might be a good idea to call ahead to make sure we’re accepting donations at that time.
Major Donations
If you are interested in making a significant donation there are a number of options for doing so.
You can sponsor the name of a meeting room or special use area for an individual, family, foundation, or corporation. The name will be enshrined on a sign in or near the area. This is a meaningful way to memorialize a loved one or establish a business or foundation as a valued supporter of the community.

All donations are important and valued. Gifts of $500 or more will be recognized on the Library’s Donor Recognition Wall so that all visitors can celebrate your generosity.
Named Endowment Funds provide continuous support for the Library. They will be established in perpetuity with the income used for the annual operation of the Library. Your donation will continue to grow for generations to come.
As part of your estate planning, you can leave the Library a gift in your will that will live on and serve the needs of the community into the future.
