Ancestral Lineage Societies: How to Join

If you are curious about your ancestors, who they were, how they got here, what experiences were encountered along the way, and you would like to meet others whose ancestors shared the same experiences as yours, then a lineage group might be right for you.

Today’s lineage and hereditary societies focus on preservation of the past. They are involved in social and educational events that celebrate their shared heritage.

No experience is needed to attend. We will introduce you to what information lineage groups look for as part of their application process. We will show you what we have here at the library to help prove your lineage, as well as talk about other places to look for resources.

Representatives of the Mayflower Society, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), and Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) will be on hand to assist in any way that they can.
